Have you ever wanted to grow your hair over-night? Maybe you woke up from a dream and notice that your hair wasn't as long as in the dream.

Actually you can artificially grow you hair in one sitting at the hairdressers.

A quick search on the Internet produces a number of sites. However, after viewing about 5 of them, you'll quickly discover the services of an actual experienced person to guide you thru the maze of hair types, application methods, and procedures, is essential.

In Sevierville, one of the only places we are familiar with that has a hair extension professional on staff is Missy Proffitt at Southern Fried Hair, across from the courthouse.

Hair extensions can be real or synthetic hair bonded together with carotene protein. It is actually fused or glued to existing hair with a special tool.

The application with quality hair lasts up to nine months with minimal amount of care.

It can treated like your real hair. You can blow dry it, color it, roll it or shampoo it.

Nice feature is if you don't like it, it can be removed.

Some people can't seem to grow long hair for one reason or another

Many people get impatient and they seem to love the option of going from short brunette to long blond hair in one day rather than months of waiting for your hair to grow.

Reasons that some people get extensions is cancer treatment.

Proffitt say that one of her biggest clients had breast cancer. "She lost all of her hair and when it came back, it was thin without body and not thick beautiful hair. The extensions are the same length as her regular hair it's just that the extensions make her hair thicker and it is a lot less maintenance," stated Proffitt

Proffitt recently graduated from Tennessee School of Beauty. Her interest in extensions was peaked when a class was offered and she took it.

"I noticed that all the big stars, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and just about all the stars in Hollywood were using extensions and being a cheer leading coach at Sevier County High School the girls are always inquiring about their hair, so I jumped at the chance to learn about extensions," Proffitt said.

Proffitt says that we would be surprised to find out how many people in Sevier County have hair extensions. "Once you get them, you can't believe how beautiful and think their hair is.

According to Proffitt, men also are hair extension customers.

The wholesale store in Knoxville has walls of real hair.

It takes from three to eight hours depending how

Starts out at $750 locally for hair extensions. "I was watching the Today show about hair extensions from the same schooling I learn from and their starting prices were $3,500," stated Proffitt.

Proffitt is getting married October 27th to Brad Dalton, who at present does not have extensions.
