The First Annual Smoky Mountain Fan Fest at Smokies Stadium in Sevierville will be held Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th , 2009.
This year, Fan Fest will feature cast members from The Dukes of Hazzard and other classic television shows and movies. There will also be a major concert on Saturday night starring country music legend Merle Haggard, along with Janie Fricke and Cooter’s Garage Band.
One of the best loved television shows of all time is The Dukes of Hazzard. Several cast members from the show attending our event: Catherine Bach, Ben Jones, James Best, Sonny Shroyer, Rick Hurst, Byron Cherry, and Don Pedro Colley.
Another classic television show still popular today is The Munsters. Butch Patrick, will be here, along with a car used on the show.
One of the most popular movies in the history of film is The Wizard of Oz. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the movie. Margaret Pellegrini, one of the Munchkins, will be here. Margaret actually played two roles in the 1939 movie. She was one of the Sleepy Heads in the bird's nest and also one of the gals who wore a flower pot hat. Ever since then, the flower pot hat has been her trademark.
Also Donna Douglas will attend the event. The Beverly Hillbillies is another all-time classic television show. Donna played the role of "Elly May Clampett".
The Dukes Cast, Butch Patrick, Margaret Pellegrini, and Donna Douglas will be selling autographs and memorabilia Saturday and Sunday. There will also be entertainment and activities throughout both days, including a children's area. A schedule will be posted soon.
One-day or two-day tickets are available. You may also choose between general admission or a reserved seat for the concert on Saturday night. Children 11 and under will receive FREE general admission. (Limit two children free, per paying adult.
