Children can enjoy stories about splashing in the rain and make a water craft to take home at the Seymour Branch Library at 317 W. Macon Lane. “It’s Raining Books at the SCPLS: It’s Raining Cats & Dogs Story Time!”

Enjoy loads of cats and dogs stories at the Sevier County Main Library on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed dog or cat with them to story time. The Lap-Sit Story Time Program for babies and parents is scheduled at the Sevier County Main Library on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Parents and babies interact with songs, fingerplays, books and movement activities to enhance pre-literacy skills. SCPLS LITERARY CLASSIC BOOK CLUB MEETING

Sevier County, TN – Enjoy a lively discussion of one of the greatest love stories and novels to ever come from the south: Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind. The 1937 Pulitzer Prize winning novel was the only novel published by Margaret Mitchell in her lifetime. The novel has sold over 28 million copies and is considered one of the most popular books of all time. The Sevier County Public Library System (SCPLS) Literary Classic Book Club will meet at the Kodak Branch Library on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss this wonderful novel.

The novel has been made into many film versions. As a companion book-into-movie program, the Kodak Branch Library will show one of the original versions with Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh as a companion book-into-movie program on Saturday, April 26, 2008 starting at 1:00 p.m.
