Seymour is growing and Sevier Pawn and Loan is part of that growth. The store will be moving to its new location at 11510B Chapman Hwy. on Monday, August 11th, next to McDonalds and across from Food City Shopping Center.
Besides the move, the store will also have a new name, Sevier Pawn and Jewelry. “We will have a full service jewelry department in our store and we plan to hire a full time jeweler in the future,” stated owner Lara Parton.
In business for ten years this is Parton’s 15th year in the pawn and loan business. “I worked for someone for five years and then he sold his store. After that I decided to open my own store,” stated Parton.
While a soft opening is planned for the 11th, a grand opening will be set sometime in September. “We’ll have free Bud Ballard’s Barbeque, drinks and drawings for prizes. We will also be giving away a 55-gallon barrel of gas,” stated Parton. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. Elvis will be here (Jess Wade, an Elvis impersonator) and Ms. Tennessee American Jr. Teen Angela Karl.
According to Parton the attractive 4000 square feet store will be filled with jewelry, tools, band instruments, stereo equipment, guns, iPods, laptops, and “all the good stuff!”
“I’m excited that our employees will have a new store to work out of and I’m excited for our customers because they will have a great selection of merchandise at a convenient location.”
