forrester named sevier county fair director

Marlene Forrester, new Director for the Sevier County Fair & Fairgrounds

The Sevier County Fair Association has announced Marlene Forrester as the new Director for the Sevier County Fair & Fairgrounds.  Forrester comes to the Fair Association from Bass Pro Shops in Sevierville where she has served as Promotions Manager since 2005.  She has extensive experience in promotions, event coordination and in marketing. 

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Sevier County Fair Association and to help our county fair grow to be recognized as the best fair in East Tennessee,” said Forrester.

John B. Waters, Jr, President of the Sevier County Fair Assocation said, “We are excited not only about the level of professionalism that Marlene will help bring to the Sevier County Fair, but also about her vision for helping the Sevier County Fairgrounds become a more utilized community resource.”

Prior to joining the staff at Bass Pro, Forrester served in a variety of graphic design and marketing positions with The Mountain Press, Smoky Mountain Knife Works, and the City of Sevierville, among others.

Forrester holds and Associates Degree in Advertising from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and she is a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, NY.
