Saying that it’s a reflection on the quality of life in the community, Jim Calkin. Chief Manager, of the Bridgemont Group announced today that they are pledging $100,000 pledge over five years to the new main library for Sevier County.
The Bridgemont Group specializes in buying and marketing prime real estate tracks in the Southeast. The Bridgemont Group is committed to the economic development of the region while preserving and promoting its natural beauty.“We are very supportive of Sevierville and Sevier County,” said Calkin. “We appreciate the opportunity to be able to be apart of the area’s growth and prosperity in this way.“At the end of the day, a library is very important for the community’s culture and structure,” said Calkin. “A library is an extension of the educational process. How a community deals with education defines them, demonstrates their desire for quality of life and bright future.
To be able to be part of this project to help the new library is a great opportunity for us to serve the community.” On behalf of the Sevier County Public Library System Foundation, Chair Judge Rex Henry Ogle expressed his gratitude. “We are close to meeting our goal and are very appreciative of Bridgemont stepping up to the plate,” said Judge Ogle. The Foundation that is seeking to raise $8.5 million is very close to reaching its goal.
“With a few more significant gifts from the community, we can sleep well!” said Johnny Waters, honorary Chair of the library campaign. “The community is going to be well served by this new library. It is going to a beacon of pride for all of us. We ask that those businesses and individuals, who have not yet stepped, please do! Donations can be made online through Pay Pal. The Sevier County Library System serves a growing population in three locations with more than 95,000 holdings. More than half of all Sevier County residents from all areas of the county have an active library card. This new main library will serve the entire county. The new library will be 45,000 square feet, built where the King Lumber Company was located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Gary Wade Blvd/High Street and Prince/Railroad Street. It is close to two schools (Sevierville Intermediate and Sevierville Middle School, close to public access and close to other public amenities, including recreation, government services and parks.
