Take a Ride on the Mild Side! That's the slogan for Five Oaks Riding Stables, a great place to go horseback riding in Sevier County.

Located at 1628 Parkway, in Sevierville the stables offers guided tours year round. Owners Duane and Christine Schmaltz will set you off on the trails covering 250 acres. Guided trail rides are half hour for $16.50 or $22.00 for an hour long. Anyone age six and older can ride.

"It was lots of fun," stated Kelly Grant who was visiting the area from Oregon. "The views from the trails were so pretty and the horses were really nice."

The Schmalrz's took over the business back in November. "Christine had been working here and the opportunity came up to purchase the business so we decided to buy it," stated Duane.

So far, business has been good. Sevierville is a great tourist area and the rides are conveniently located right on the Parkway. For more information on Five Oaks Riding Stables you can call 865-453-8644 or check out their website at www.ridethehorses.com
