The sentence was the result of Reagan’s guilty plea to an Information charging him with possession of child pornography in violation of 18 U.S.C. 2252A(a)(5)(B).
Judge Phillips also imposed a 10 year term of supervised release to commence after Reagan’s release from prison.
Reagan was released on a $200,000 bond pending designation of an institution by the Bureau of Prisons. One of the conditions of that release is that he is to be placed on electronic monitoring.
The facts leading to the conviction of Reagan are that on March 8, 2006, Detective Tom Evans of the Knoxville Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Michelle Patterson interviewed the defendant at his office in Sevierville. During that interview, the defendant admitted that he had used his computer to obtain images of child pornography from the internet.
Additionally, he stated that a search of his computer would uncover child pornographic images.
The defendant gave consent to the search of his computer. A forensic examination was performed on the computer. As a result of this forensic examination it was determined that the defendant possessed 104 images of child pornography.
This analysis also determined the following: that some of the child pornography images downloaded by the defendant contain prepubescent children, that the defendant obtained possession of these images through use of his computer, and that the images had been transported in interstate commerce.
These images were sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) for identification of possible known child victims. The NCMEC was able to identify several of these images as images of known child victims.
Reagan is currently an attorney in Sevierville. He has served as a Sevier County Judicial Commissioner, Sevier County Trial Justice Judge and Juvenile Court Judge.
This conviction is the result of the United States Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative which investigates and prosecutes individuals who exploit children over the internet.

Ok, here is the deal. He was arrested in 2006 and the indictment was sealed in Federal Court for over 2 years. Now, for what he was charged with and the sentence he was given, he cooperated not only in child porn cases, but I bet he TOLD EVER THING HE KNEW ABOUT PUBLIC CORRUPTION IN SEVIER COUNTY. If this announcement comes at a time when 'he had been defriefed of all he knew about all those he knew', from 2006 until mid 2008, wouldn't you think stenography has become a good trade for the working gal during this time?
Just how much public corruption could he talk about from his professional status and experience, I would say an awful lot and how far-reaching does the scope of his knowledge go? I would say it cuts a wide swath and deep as well, and, I hope so.
One never knows when the turn of events are such that while digging a hole for yourself you do the citizenry a service by deflecting your wrong doing in other directions, and, this may be a good thing in the end. He has been a public servant in various aspects, and, these last deeds as a 'public servant' may be treasured more than any before, depending on the outcome.
I believe that most will hope that he will be given credit for time served and that he will serve this sentence well.
Time will hopefully truly tell the whole story if it relates to public corruption in Sevier County.
Ben Scott's post regarding corruption in Sevier County doesn't mention whether or not there might be some good ole boys burping and snorting here in my county of Jefferson. Pressure has been high here since one of our law enforcement was charged with practically the same offense as Reagan. From that time forward we have been waiting for the 'other shoe' to drop and others named.
Is it too late or perhaps others will be named by information possible shared by Reagan during these two years of investigation and plea dealing?

Glad to hear that these investigations are starting from the top down, judges, the DA, Sheriff & Mayor. Commissioners will be forced to do all they can in September to put the government on a better track, it just takes fifteen votes to seat a different Chairman and that will make a real difference in cleaning up the mess.
There will be few sapegoats here because of starting at the top, the cookie will crumble right on down to the elected pubic officials.
I hear there will be a group organized of public spirited citizens with the goal of better government in Sevier County, and, perhaps if the public supports the idea will offer a petition toward a referendum at next election to establish a Charter government in Sevier County with term limits, two terms - period!!

Judges would serve two eight year terms, Clerk & Master would serve two six-year terms, other officials would serve two four-year terms, including the Commissioners, Constables and right on down the line.

There are too many officials that hire all there family. It should be a law that you cannot hire family members period. Larry Waters needs out of control of everything. Uh who's Nancy? Ron Reagan's wife isn't Nancy. Fay, I also know the family well, known them all of my life, Ron is a waste, his wife and children are top notch people. His life and infideleties has finaly caught up with him, he admitted to everything in court so if he's 100% innocent then he's an idiot for admitting to it, he's guilty as sin and going to pay the price, he got a stiffer sentance because HE WAS A JUDGE AND IS A LAWYER, he's held in higher regard and the penalty is harsher, he didn't get enough if you ask me. He will probably have to serve 20% of his sentence, thats about 9 months.

Parton is also into trying to intimidate parents who get just a little bit too close to home with various issues. There is one out there that I know has recently consulted and retained a lawyer, as they are trying to ban that parent from the schools for trying to resolve an issue. That parent got some letter from a guy named Cagle at the Nashville level, stating that according to an order of Parton, that the parent was to not enter the schools. That parent has made no terrorist threats! All that parent stated was that if it took public exposure to solve this problem, they were not afraid to go that route. And boom....a letter from a Nashville attorney...but no court order of any sort. Now if Parton tries to intimidate that parent, who else does Parton try to intimidate? Those parents are far from done with this ordeal.

Jack Parton, though appointed, can be ousted with a 2/3's vote by the school board. The school board members do not care how hard you work, or do not work, in teaching children. We need term limits there! We need new blood there badly!

I thought this news story was about Ronald Reagen, an attorney in Sevierville and a former judge in the county. How did it get off on the school board and Jackie Parton? They Reagan's computer to bring down other pedophiles not the sevier county government. At this time, Reagan is supposed to serve all his 46 months. He would have gotten longer time, but he helped with the investigation so his time is shorter but 46 months and the 10 years probation is his plea aggreement. That is what he IS to serve nothing shorter. He is a rude, crude and socially unacceptable person. When he was a judge many people got out of being in trouble because he enjoyed "happy endings." He was caught two years ago and has since still practiced law. I am sure that is who most people would want serving them. In prison inmates hate pedophiles and they hate crokked judges even more. This gentleman's prison experience ought to be interesting. Crooked judge/ perv ought to bring out the best in the inmates.
