The Sevier County School System is pleased to announce the appointment of two new principals for the 2008-2009 school year.
On July 1, 2008, Dr. Shannon Sullivan will become the principal at Jones Cove Elementary School replacing Tammy Waters who will remain in the system in another position.
Troy Kelley will become the principal at Pigeon Forge Middle School replacing Jerry Wear who retired. Prior to their new administration appointments, Dr. Sullivan was an assistant principal at Seymour Middle School and Troy Kelley was the assistant principal at Pigeon Forge Middle School. Both Sullivan and Kelley have worked in the Sevier Sevier County System for several years.
Dr. Jack A. Parton, Director of Schools, stated, "I have confidence that both Dr. Sullivan and Mr. Kelley will be wonderful additions to our administrative leadership team. Without doubt, both individuals bring skills and talents that will be valuable assets in these key leadership positions."
As previously announced, Dr. Sullivan and Mr. Kelley join Toby Wird (Sevier County High School) and Curtis Henry (Gatlinburg·Pittman High School) as newly appointed principals in the Sevier County School System for the 2008·2009 school year.

Do you blame her who would want to work for Nelson I would get out and run first chance too it is just a shame she is the best administrator in the school.
I say Dr.Nelson does a fine job. As matter of fact I would like to see her be our new Superintendent of the Sevier County School System. When the opportunity comes you go girl.
