SCPLS HOSTS BOOK SIGNINGS IN OCTOBER

Sevier County: Two authors will visit the Sevier County Public Library System Main Branch during the month of October for author visits and book signings. Scott and Callie West are the author/illustrator team of a children’s book. Laura West is the author of a true-life inspirational story.

     Scott and Callie West illustrated and wrote their new children’s book, The Unlikely Trio: The Last Barn on the Left that details the story of three unlikely friends who together have great adventures and learn valuable lessons doing so.

Callie West will appear at the Sevier County Main Library on Saturday, October 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Laura West, local inspirational speaker and author, will discuss and sign her book entitled Blind, Burned and Living Against All Odds on Saturday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. In this book, Laura West shares the story of her daughter, Maleka, who was badly burned when she was 15 months old. The West family, foster parents for over 12 years, adopted Maleka and share their life with her.

Sevier County Public Library System Preschool Story Time:

Get Carded @ the Library with preschool children as the Sevier County Library System celebrates September as Library Card Sign-Up Month. Can you bear another story at the Sevier County Public Library System during October? Of course you can! Preschoolers and their caregivers can visit any branch of the Sevier County Public Library System during the month of October to be enchanted with classic and new stories and books as they enjoy songs and create crafts about bears. During the week of September 29 – October 3, the preschool story time program will be presented at each branch on the following days:

· Seymour Branch Library, 137 W. Macon Lane, Monday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. Meet Library Friends and discover library jobs with Mr. Spence at the Seymour Branch Library. For more information, please call Spence Perry at 573-0728.
