The search for a woman who was seen jumping into the rain-swollen Little River Friday afternoon ended on a positive note when the subject walked out in good condition at the Townsend Wye, about 7 miles downstream from the point where she was last seen.
Rangers say that   Carla S. Manzolini, 45, of Knoxville was found at about 10:45 a.m. this morning. Preliminary indications are that she got out of the River on the opposite side from the Little River Road and walked up though the woods until she intersected the Round Top Trail which leads to the Townsend Wye where she crossed the river and walked into the parking area.
The Park volunteers who were directing traffic at the closed gate to Little River Road noticed her and notified Rangers that she might be the individual they were looking for. Manzolini’s vehicle had been found Friday night at the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area so Rangers had suspected that she was the subject of the search.
She was transported to Blount Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
