WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.) has two openings for challenging, unpaid internships for college students or recent graduates in his Washington, D.C., office.
The office is seeking a full-time intern to start immediately to assist with legislative and constituent services, as well as a full-time press intern for June, July and August.
The legislative and constituent services intern will help with incoming constituent communication, aid legislative staff with special projects and attend staff meetings with the Congressman. The intern’s responsibilities will also include researching projects, writing reports and helping with general office duties.
The press intern will assist with writing media releases and Web content, taking photographs and video at press events and working on a new media strategy. The position will be full-time for June, July and August. Interested candidates should have excellent writing skills and new media experience.
Candidates who reside or attend college or a university inside Tennessee’s Third District are given more consideration. Because interns work during regular business hours, additional weight will be granted to candidates who are able to devote more time to their internships. To apply, fill out an application online at http://www.house.gov/wamp/internships.shtm and e-mail it along with a resume to the Intern Coordinator at ehall@mail.house.gov or fax to 202-225-3494.
