Pigeon Forge police are searching for the husband of a woman found dead in her motel room.
The body of Cassandra M. Petry, a white female, age 36, was found at approximately 11:30 p.m. Monday night in a motel in Pigeon Forge.
The body was discovered when the sister of the victim called requesting a welfare check on her.
The sister stated that she had not heard from her in over 24 hours and she could not reach her at the motel or on her cell phone.
When officers arrived at the motel they discovered the body in the room, dead from what appeared to be stab wounds. Petry was in Pigeon Forge with her husband on their honeymoon.
Pigeon Forge Police Department Investigators are looking for her husband, Brian L. Umphrey, a white male, age 34, 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing 175 pounds. He has hazel eyes and black hair.
Umphrey is believed to be in the Athens or Rockwood, Tennessee area, driving Petry’s vehicle, a white Dodge Durango with a Tennessee Specialty Tag number “TF8619”.
Anyone who has had any contact with Umphrey should notify their local law enforcement agency or the Pigeon Forge Police Department at (865) 453-9063.
