'all politics are local'

As they say, 'All politics are local'.  Thus it is as a businessman with a Doctorate in Economics that I am asking what is it that our local politicians have done for us in this time of national economic crisis.  I am totally opposed to the way in which our US Senators have attempted to resolve our economic wows.  The $700 billion dollar bailout bill which really got passed as an $850 billion dollar law is a cheap way of dodging the real solutions to the problem.  The bailout Bill that Senator Alexander voted for clearly was enough to destroy my planned retirement, but what is worse this Bill shows that our government representatives are willing to destroy the entire lives of our children and grand children for the achieving their own goal of covering their own backsides.
