The Seymour Middle School Cheerleaders attended Cheer Camp this past Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the University of Tennessee. The girls had a great time and learned lots of new cheers.
Seymour placed first in the ‘Cheer' competition and received the coveted "Traditions" Award given to just one group out of all the teams present (18 in all.) The award is given to a team by the UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) staff that they felt had the most enthusiasm and over-all good attitude.
The girls also received the Spirit Stick each day at the camp, four Superior Blue Ribbons and two Superior Gold Ribbons.
Three girls made the All-Star Team and will have the chance to go to Orlando Florida to participate in a parade at Disney World. Those girls included Nicole Elford, Morgan Snapp and Hannah Humble. "I'm extremely proud of their hard work and dedication," stated Seymour Middle School Cheerleading Coach Michele Ballard. "I look forward to the year ahead. I love the girls and they are awesome!"
